STP — Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning — is the three-step framework that turns a market into a strategy. It answers: how is the market divided (segmentation), which part do we serve (targeting), and how do we win there (positioning).

Segmentation splits the market by meaningful differences — industry, company size, behavior, needs, geography. Targeting selects the segments where your strengths win and the economics work. Positioning defines the value proposition that makes you the obvious choice in that segment.

The output is a positioning statement: for [segment], who [need], [product] is the [category] that [differentiating benefit]. It disciplines every downstream decision — messaging, pricing, channels, features.

Allable's strategy module walks the same sequence with data: market research feeds segmentation, and the AI marketing strategy maps positioning to content and campaign execution.

Examples:

  • A CRM segments by company size; targets agencies (not enterprises); positions as "the CRM that runs a services business".
  • A positioning statement: "For marketing agencies juggling 15 clients, Allable is the AI platform that does the busywork of SEO, content, and campaigns."
